Everyone is talking "Millennium".

Van-Daaz is talking... transmillennium.

In fact, it is all about transmillennium and transplanetary gem-space-odyssey...!

Scholars of all ancient civilizations, from the Ancient Summerian and Akkadian to the Assyrian, Babylonian, Egyptian, Chinese, Indian--or even earlier, smaller, or further communities--have always looked up to the skies for signs of change and cyclicality, and created tabulations marking the very concept of passing time based on the calculations emerging from those observations. Calendars and historical milestones were intimately connected to those celestial observations and associated with them. When major celestial and calendar events approach and transpire--a turn of a century, much more so a turn of a millennium--man is instinctively reminded of his place in space & time, the depth of those concepts and our civilization's time and place in the universe and in its cosmic order and history.

It is little wonder, therefore, that Van-Daaz, in the pioneering spirit characteristic already of its early embarking on Internet loose diamond trading (one of the world's first two online diamond dealerships--on the "Web" since 1995) has adopted unique celestial themes to mark the coming turn of millennia.

"Celestial Themes?" you are wondering.

The details of our interplanetary diamond mission will, for now, remain a mystery, until our approaching official unveiling (they account for the revolving white gem in the heading, above...).

However, our other interplanetary gem odyssey is now ready to be unveiled and publicly offered!

What could be even more precious, rarer and harder to come-by than a diamond--one of the hardest to procure gems on earth?

The answer is: Extra Terrestrial Gems! Gems from outer space. Amazingly enough, such astounding gems do exist and are offered now by Van-Daaz. Their number and size are limited, which comes with the (extra-terrestrial-) territory, and which renders them so special, unique & rare. The gemstone is Peridot, one of the more attractive, green-yellowish gems, known also as Olivine (for its color characteristics, no doubt; Now you know whence the revolving green gem appearing in the heading...). The source of this precious Peridot is the Esquel meteorite, found in 1951 in Argentina and believed by astronomers to have originated in the Asteroid Belt somewhere between Mars and Jupiter... a true transplanetary, transmillennia time traveler... a reminder of the continuity which persists through all changes...

Would there be a better reminder of the celestial bodies & motions underpinning the change of millennia...? Limited number of Olivine "chunks" contained in the Esquel were faceted into variety of shapes: round, oval and marquise brilliant cuts, stepped emerald and square cuts. A sample of these Peridot gems, of the very same Esquel meteorite origin has been examined and analyzed by Gemologists of the GIA laboratory, and described in an article in the GIA's review "Gems & Gemology". Van-Daaz's Interplanetary Peridot Gems are shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity of Origin (in fact, regardless of this measure--most of the Esquel Peridot bear typical marks and inclusions unknown in terrestrial Peridot), a copy of the article about them in the GIA's very own "Gems & Gemology" and a special Transmillennia Commemorative Certificate. You are invited to read about this most precious of all gems (press "About Meteoritic Peridot" above) and to visit their lot (select "Interplanetary Peridot Lot").
